first day in NYC

Well, my first day in New York was not what I had anticipated. I had visions of my usual first encounter with a new agency in a new city, scrambling to find my way in time to get some ins and outs and crucial details for navigating around before I strip down into a little bikini for some fresh digital snap shots. This was not the case today! I was booked for an editorial which was a lovley surprise. It was a pretty nice way to start the trip. I always worry if I am going to work at all my first two weeks on any trip so booking a job before I even left my house to go to the airport was a super duper kick ass surprise. I hope it's a glimpse into a month or so of gaining a decent amount of NYC interest and a significant amount of bookings!!! Fingers crossed.

Here is a photo I took on my way to set.

My apartment is nice - much better than some I have stayed in prior to this trip. I have a room to myself at the moment but that will soon change. I am enjoying it though and hoping it lasts a couple more days!

By now

I should be good at packing for big trips but i'm not.

why am i not getting better at this? it's a mystery.

you'd think id have the hang of it by now. i am a chronic overpacker. and if i pack a few nights before i leave or even the day before, i will still sneak more things inside right before i fly. for heavens sake i am going to new york. pretty sure i can shop.

fix this.

Z!NK Mag Round 3 *ding!*

Yesterday I had the pleasure of shooting for Zink Canada again. I worked with some really great people from Mexico, photographer Markus Ziegler now residing in the UK and production crew Caixa Pro. We shot in-studio in Gastown and once again, got to enjoy the stylings of the very talented Leila Bani and hair/makeup artistry of Sonia Leal-Serafim. They are two very inspiring and lovely ladies. Oh yeah, and I can't forget the EXTREME nail art of Christina Culver. To die fo'.
