█ ♥ █ Go for the GOLD! █ ♥ █

█ ♥ █
How could I have left this?

I am all alone watching the Men's Hockey Finals from my hotel room in Greece. We scored! I have a flag that I really want to wave in the streets but it just wouldn't be the same!!! Oh well. I can jump on my bed and dance in solitude. I know all my Canadian friends are drinking some place in their red and white/flanel/fur-flap hat/deer toque get-ups...and I am with you in spirit!

I am marching alongside all of you fools on Granville St. I am high-fiving strangers. I am going to fall asleep to the sound of fireworks, drunk Canucks, foghorns and nonstop cheering. I am dreaming of BeaverTails http://www.beavertailsinc.com/ . I've met a few of the other girls in my building but nobody seemed too interested in the game. I guess hockey is truly a Canadian thing! (So we better win) Ah well, anyone who knows me knows I've never had a problem amusing myself. GO CANADA!
We scored again! I am really missing the excitement in Vancouver. It is silent in the streets right now and I know Vancouver is ROARING!

Europa!

I am jet-set for Europe on Friday! So soon! Ah!

I always get so excited and so anxious before these trips. I'm hoping it's going to be busy there. There has been so much news about financial devastation in Greece, and that is my destination. Hope it doesn't hurt the fashion world!

PACKING. You'd think I'd be getting good at it by now....but I am most certainly not. It's rough for a girl who lives in tees and beanies to pack for a trip as a model! Choosing between one more pair of flats or another pair of high heels really shouldn't be that stressful. It should be a no brainer really, but this is me we are talking about. Flats flats flats!

Heels.

So after having it in my head for about 6 months to go blonde blonde blonde I finally took the leap. Ah! I am no longer golden blonde, but a bright Britt instead. If I stand under a black light all you see is white hair and giant teeth. Cool trick. Impresses many.

Now, off to rebuild my book!

Diagnosis Olympiosis

It's official. The Olympics have hit Vancouver! New art, buildings, tents, crazy people, protesters and torchers. These are the things that have blocked my day to day activity for the last couple weeks, or should I say years?
I get annoyed at times with some of Vancouver's changes and its new atmosphere, not to mention the ads in the paper telling us to be nice to tourists (are we that bad?), but I am a little stoked to be around for it. Out my window I can hear all the hootin' and hollarin' from my Canadian family and our guests.....here comes the torch!

Exciting, no? I think so!

GO CANADA!

BC rules.

The Quiddity

Quiddity Britt
Benjamin Kwan Photo 2010
quid·di·ty (kwĭd'ĭ-tē)
Noun (pl. -ties) chiefly Philosophy
The inherent nature or essence of someone
or something.
= a distinctive feature; a peculiarity : her
quirks and quiddities.

ORIGIN late Middle English : from
medieval Latin quidditas, from Latin
quid 'what'.

The essence of an object, literally its "whatness," or "what it is." It describes properties a particular substance (e.g. person) shares with others of its kind. The question "what (quid) is it?" asks for a general description by way of commonality. This is quiddity or "whatness" (i.e., its "what it is"). Quiddity was often contrasted by the scholastic philosophers with the haecceity or "thisness" of an item, which was supposed to be a positive characteristic of an individual that caused them to be this individual, and no other. -Wiki
